Terms of Service

Start Podcast (“the Service”) is operated by Daft Planet Media LLC (“we”, “us”). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these terms. If you are agreeing on behalf of a company, you confirm you are authorised to bind it.

Your account is provided through Start Podcast, a partner reselling the Service. Your commercial arrangement — price, invoicing, and support — is with them; these terms govern your use of the software itself.

The Service connects to the YouTube channel or channels you choose and runs an automated pipeline on new uploads: a transcript, SEO copy (title, description, tags, timestamped chapters), thumbnail variants, and short-form vertical clips with burned-in captions. Source videos up to 2 hours are supported.

Depending on your plan and settings, it may also include:

• Clip Studio and the Video Editor — trimming, reordering, caption styling, reframing, multi-camera angle selection, and publishing finished videos to YouTube.
• AI Story Studio — narrated, music-scored videos generated from a topic or script.
• Social Studio — quote cards, social posts, and short animated clips, with optional distribution to TikTok, Instagram Reels, X, and LinkedIn.
• Publishing surfaces — an automatically written public blog derived from your videos, a public podcast RSS feed, episode delivery to Buzzsprout, and a continuous public stream assembled from your videos.
• Analytics — your own YouTube channel statistics inside the dashboard.

We add, change, and retire features. We will not make a change that materially reduces what your paid plan delivers without telling you first.

You sign in with a Google account and are responsible for activity under it. You must be at least 16. You are responsible for ensuring your use complies with YouTube's Terms of Service and the rules of any other platform you publish to through us.

Free. SEO output only — title, description, tags, and chapters are written and pushed to your video. Thumbnails and clips are generated but withheld until you upgrade.

Paid plans. Currently $47/month and $97/month, and a $500/year annual plan. The $47 plan delivers thumbnails and clips with our watermark burned in; the $97 plan removes the watermark and suppresses third-party advertising on your blog posts. Included monthly video volume differs by plan and is shown on the pricing page, which is the authoritative source for current prices and allowances.

Extra channels. Channels beyond the number included with your plan are billed as a separate monthly subscription per extra channel. You can add or remove them at any time.

Fair use and caps. Plans include a monthly video allowance and a limited number of free regenerations. We apply a per-job and optional per-account spend ceiling to protect against runaway processing cost; jobs that would exceed it stop rather than continue billing.

Payment. We bill in USD through Stripe. Charges appear as Daft Planet Media LLC. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel at any time from the billing page; cancellation stops the next renewal and does not refund the current period unless the law requires it. We may change prices with at least 30 days' notice before your next renewal.

You may connect your own third-party API keys — for example Google Gemini, ElevenLabs, fal.ai, Sonauto, or Apify — so the corresponding AI work runs on your own provider accounts and billing rather than ours. When you do, that usage is governed by your agreement with that provider, those charges are your responsibility, and we are not liable for their cost, limits, or availability. Keys are encrypted at rest and used only to perform work you request.

You own your videos and everything the Service generates for you — SEO copy, thumbnails, clips, captions, blog posts, social posts, and story videos. You grant us a non-exclusive licence to store, transcode, process, and — where you have enabled a publishing feature or asked us to publish — distribute that content, for as long as needed to operate the features you use.

You are responsible for having the rights to everything you put through the Service, including music, footage, and any person appearing in it. Where you upload a photograph of someone for thumbnail or likeness features, you confirm you have their permission.

On the free and $47 plans, delivered assets may carry our watermark.

You may not use the Service to:

• infringe copyright or any other right;
• create sexual content, content depicting minors inappropriately, harassment, or content promoting violence or illegal activity;
• impersonate a real person or generate a synthetic likeness of someone without their permission;
• produce deceptive political or medical claims, or content designed to mislead about its origin;
• resell or redistribute the Service without a partner agreement, or attempt to circumvent plan limits, watermarks, or spend caps.

We may suspend or terminate an account that breaks these rules, and we may remove content from the public surfaces we host.

Output is generated by machine-learning models and may contain factual errors, inaccurate timestamps, awkward phrasing, or visual artefacts. You are responsible for reviewing every asset before it is published, including anything published automatically by a feature you have enabled. We make no warranty that any generated asset will produce any particular level of views, subscribers, or revenue, and we do not warrant that generated output is unique or non-infringing.

The Service depends on providers we do not control — including the YouTube Data API, Google Gemini, Stripe, ElevenLabs, fal.ai, Sonauto, HeyGen, Apify, Blotato, and Buzzsprout. Outages, policy changes, or rate limits at any of them can delay or prevent processing. We offer no uptime guarantee. Where a job fails for a reason on our side, we retry it and, where credits applied, return the unused portion.

You can stop using the Service and delete your account at any time from the dashboard. We may suspend or terminate an account for breach of these terms, non-payment, or where required by law. On termination your right to use the Service ends and your data is handled as described in the Privacy Policy.

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind to the fullest extent the law allows. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential loss, or for lost profits, revenue, data, or goodwill. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

You agree to indemnify us against claims arising from content you put through the Service or publish using it, and from your breach of these terms.

We may update these terms as the Service changes. The date at the top reflects the current version. For a change that materially affects your rights we will give notice by email before it takes effect, and continued use afterwards means you accept it.
